About Us

Business lawyers with a cannabis industry focus

Green Light Law Group serves clients in the marijuana, hemp, and emerging psychedelics industries. Our attorneys bring industry-specific knowledge to the table. This knowledge is significant because the industry continues to evolve, and so do the laws and regulations governing it. By staying on top of these changes, Green Light Law Group becomes a proactive and strategic ally for cannabis-related businesses of any size.

Our interest in the industry extends to serving as advocates for cannabis business concerns. We are the attorneys who overturned the State of Oregon’s Vape Ban in 2019. We regularly defend clients from overzealous regulatory enforcement, help clients acquire their cannabis or hemp producer, processor or wholesaler licenses, and counsel them on complex business disputes and transactions. We handle a full range of routine and not-so-routine legal matters that can affect our clients’ growth and success.

History of the firm

Green Light Law Group was founded in 2015 by partners Brad Blommer and Perry Salzhauer, who joined the then-relatively small group of lawyers serving the newly formed legal cannabis industry in Oregon. Practicing law within this community, Brad and Perry soon became acquainted with Andrew DeWeese, a like-minded business litigator who had started his firm, Oregon Cannabis Law Group, in Portland in 2014. As the industry developed and grew, Brad, Perry, and Andrew got to know each other as practitioners, and soon realized they would better be able to serve their expanding client bases by joining forces. On January 1, 2019, Oregon Cannabis Law Group was folded into Green Light Law Group and since then the partners’ realization has proven correct: by 2021, Green Light Law Group had nearly tripled in size and has established itself as the premiere cannabis law firm in the Pacific Northwest.
